Our client – Mogo is an international and fast-growing fintech company with a vast reach across the globe. Mogo is a part and leading brand of the Eleving Group portfolio. Founded in Latvia in 2012, Mogo revolutionized the way people purchase used cars. Expanding to all the Baltic countries within a year of its launch, Mogo grew in the following years, spreading to 15 markets by 2022. Mogo changed the used vehicle market everywhere it went, by providing accessible financing for people with, up till then, limited access to funds.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team and its deliveries.
- Deliver top-notch reporting and analyses of financial issues.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax laws, accounting principles, and corporate governance requirements.
- Ensure comprehensive reporting to the group and statutory financial statements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective controls, policies, and procedures.
- Control and enhance accounting and financial processes, driving continuous improvement.
- Champion the automation of accounting processes for greater efficiency.
- Oversee the identification, development, and implementation of new regulatory requirements and tools to ensure compliance with evolving financial laws and standards.
- Conduct in-depth financial controlling and cost analysis.
- Provide expert financial advice and insights to the company’s management team.
- 5+ years of experience as Head of Finance, Chief Accountant, Head of Financial Planning and Analysis or similar role.
- Higher education in accounting, economics, or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting standards and experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Expertise in refining and optimizing accounting and financial operations, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in automating accounting workflows to boost efficiency.
- Strong background in financial controlling and cost analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient English communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS standards.
- Experience in the FinTech industry will be considered as an advantage.
