Job description:
As part of an innovative high-tech project, we are looking for an experienced hands-on engineer in the field of laser technology and optoelectronics who will take ownership of the product’s technical development, from evaluating and improving the existing solution to preparing the product for serial production and successful market launch.
Responsibilities:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the existing project, the equipment’s operating principles and technical solutions.
- Assess the product’s technical readiness, identify required improvements and develop the further product development roadmap.
- Lead product development from prototype to an industrially scalable, serially manufactured product.
- Organize testing, verification and quality control processes.
- Build and lead an engineering team and collaborate with component and technology suppliers.
- Ensure the product’s technical readiness for commercialization and work closely with the commercial team on its introduction to international markets.
Requirements:
- Higher technical education in laser technology, photonics, optoelectronics, optics or a related engineering field.
- Hands-on experience in fiber laser development and a strong understanding of laser and optoelectronic systems.
- Experience developing a high-tech product from prototype through production and commercialization.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, testing, quality control and preparation for serial production.
- Experience leading an engineering team or the technical part of a project, with the ability to make independent technical decisions.
- Good command of English and willingness to travel regularly to Latvia, Finland and Germany.
- A PhD in engineering, physics or a related field will be considered an advantage.
